WOW! Have you seen this? I wish my darts were this accurate. Phil Tyalor has played his 5th perfect dart game, as shown below.  Can you even imagine the pressure of playing darts live on TV with a noisy crowd right behind you?

One thing that I have learned from being in the NHDL league is that darts is as much of a mental game as it is physically throwing the dart(s), if not more. What I mean is, I see people get upset with themselves and their teammates when either has a bad throw. When you get into a spot where mentally (emotionally) you’re upset about your dart throwing abilities that becomes all you can think about and when you or someone else puts that much pressure on you; it’s hard to recover. Everyone has a bad throw; even a bad night. To avoid continually throwing poorly, stop thinking about how bad you’re playing. Try to step away from the board and clear your head. If it’s something you normally are very good at; then tell yourself “You can do it” and to stop worrying and focusing on the negative. Shake it off. In my opinion, darts is supposed to be fun with a little friendly competition. Now go kick some dart butt!
In cricket, everyone has their own view about this question. What’s the best cricket strategy? In my experience lately, it seems that dart throwers (aka darters) are wanting to score points verses close the nummbers. I tend to not point unless I need to, but I’ve been noticing by the time I get to point, my opponent has closed out the majority of numbers. Is it better to point up and stay ahead in points while trying to close, or close what you can and then worry about points?
I don’t know how many of you have seen this on YouTube, but there is an elephant that can throw darts! I don’t think this animal is playing by the dart rules.
I just read that there is now a Simpson’s dart board! It’s the new Arachnid Simpsons Talking Electronic Dartboard. It features the voices of Homer and Bart! It has 18 games and can accomodate up to 8 players. It’s on sale, but sold out. Â
The Halex Impact 4.0 ELectronic Dart Board comes in its own wood grain cabinet with two opening doors. The package includes 2 sets of darts (6 total with soft tip replacements!). It will accommodate up to eight players. This dartboard utilizes a dedicated scoreboard that keeps track of each player’s segment status when playing Cricket. Ideal for fun and friendly gatherings.
Meet the newest Arachnid soft-tip electronic dart game board, the Galaxy II.  It contains all of the original Galaxyâ„¢ features and a 15″ color monitor for easier viewing, and superb color graphics. It also has a whole new set of ”Speed Games” (timed games) that add even more challenge to the game of darts. The Galaxy II has a redesigned “Impact Resistant” cabinet that gives the game a brand new “futuristic” look that is sure to delight dart players around the world.
There is going to be a Calcutta tournament on January 19th at Lucky Devils. I have never played in a Calcutta event, but I hear that it’s pretty interesting. From what I’ve heard, it’s a blind draw and then the teams get bet on. It might just be someething worth checking out.
Well, this weekend was the regional tournament held by Bull Sooters. There were a large number of people there; more than expected. They had to limit the losers bracket to 1 game because they didn’t bring enough boards!
I played in the tournament. I played in several events, but did not do as well as I had hoped. There were a number of exceptional players there. I was very impressed with some of the ladies there. WOW, can they throw darts!
The Lucky Devils Monday night tournament has changed. Instead of it being a 10 week tournament, it is now a weekly tournament. Every week, if no one wins the out - then the pot grows,
However, there is a catch to it. You have to play two consecutive weeks to be eligible for the pay out.
